TodoBar is sold two ways. Both are a one-time purchase with the same features and price. Pick whichever fits how you like to install Mac apps.
Mac App Store
The easiest path. Apple handles installation, updates, and the purchase. Recommended for most people.
Direct download
Download a DMG straight from this site, drag TodoBar to your Applications folder, and you are done. The app updates itself in the background using Sparkle (the same updater Mac apps have used for two decades) and asks before installing.
This option is for people who prefer not to use the Mac App Store, or who want a build they can keep installing offline indefinitely. After purchase you receive a license key by email which you paste into TodoBar’s unlock screen.

Feature parity
Both versions include:
- Unlimited tasks (after the one-time unlock)
- Plain-English due dates
- Global hotkey (default Control-Option-Command-T)
- iCloud sync between your Macs
- Local notifications when tasks are due
- Statistics and Tad-themed achievements
- Markdown and JSON export
There is no difference in the app itself. The differences are in how you install it and how updates arrive: App Store handles updates for the App Store version; the direct version updates itself silently and asks before installing.
If you change your mind later, you can switch versions. Both store your tasks in the same iCloud key-value store, so the data carries between distributions on the same Apple ID.
Refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Use reportaproblem.apple.com.
Refunds for direct purchases are handled by Payhip. Email support@todobar.app within 30 days and I will issue the refund.
