Terms of Use

The rules of the road for using TodoBar.

Last updated: May 2026

By downloading and using TodoBar (the “App”), you agree to these terms. They’re written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, email support@todobar.app.

What you’re getting

TodoBar is a macOS application licensed (not sold) to you for personal or commercial use on Mac computers signed in to your Apple ID. The free tier lets you keep up to 10 active tasks at any time. The one-time $9.99 in-app purchase removes that limit and is restored automatically on every Mac signed in to your Apple ID.

The license is governed by the standard Apple Mac App Store Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “EULA”). These Terms supplement the EULA - where they conflict, the EULA controls.

In-app purchases

The “Unlimited Tasks” in-app purchase is a non-consumable, one-time payment. Once you buy it, it’s yours forever and restores on every Mac you sign in to with the same Apple ID. There is no subscription. There are no recurring charges. There is no auto-renewal.

If something went wrong with a purchase, refunds are handled by Apple. Use the Report a Problem form at reportaproblem.apple.com - Apple processes refunds for App Store purchases, not the developer.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble TodoBar except where this restriction is forbidden by applicable law
  • Use TodoBar to store or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful to others, or violates anyone’s rights
  • Attempt to circumvent the in-app purchase or the free-tier limits

Your data

You own your tasks and any text you enter into TodoBar. The app stores them on your Mac and (if you opt in) in your private iCloud account. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture. If you stop using TodoBar, drag the app to the Trash and your local data goes with it; iCloud data can be removed from System Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

No warranty

TodoBar is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied - including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The developer does their best to make TodoBar reliable, but you’re using it at your own risk. Don’t store information in TodoBar that you can’t afford to lose; keep your own backups (the Markdown and JSON export options exist for exactly this).

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TodoBar’s developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages - including lost data, lost profits, or business interruption - arising from your use of the App. The total liability of the developer to you for any claim related to TodoBar will not exceed the amount you actually paid for it.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change meaningfully, the “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of TodoBar after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
